biji's chai for two

7/24 tsp fennel seeds
7/24 tsp ajwain seeds
could also use carom seeds
2 pods cardamom pods
2 bags black tea bags
2 cups water
1 cup milk
2 tsp sugar
My grandmother (Biji) still makes chai everyday, every morning and every afternoon. I make it when I don't feel well, or when others need a little caffeine boost. My friends think it's magic tea, but for me, it just reminds me of my grandmother.
Add 1/3 tsp fennel seeds, 1/3 tsp ajwain seeds, 2 cardamom pods (open and throw everything in), and 2 tea bags into 2 cups of water.
Boil over medium heat for 5 minutes until half the water remains.
Add 1 cup milk and 2 tsp sugar (if desired).
Boil and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
Drain seeds and enjoy.
