Ingredients
 chopped onion 1/2 cup
 butter 1/4 cup
 flour 1/4 cup
 water3 cups
 chicken broth1 can
 chopped broccoli3 cups
 shredded cheddar cheese3 cups
 half and half2 cups

Cook onion in butter until tender in a large pot.

Stir in flour and blend well.

Gradually stir in water; add chicken broth and broccoli.

Cook and stir until thickened and broccoli is tender.

Stir in cheese and half and half.

Cook and stir until cheese is melted and soup is heated through. Do not boil!
