oranges with honey, olive oil, and salt
9 pieces honey-flavored hard candies
6 whole large oranges
1/4 cup honey
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 pinch sea salt flakes
  • ziplock bag
  • rolling pin or meat pounder
This is a great fruit-based dessert that requires minimal processing. Be sure to add the crushed candies and sea salt at the very last minute so that you get that nice texture contrast.
Crush the honey candies in between 2 pieces of parchment paper or inside of a ziplock bag. Use a rolling pin or meat pounder.
Cut off the ends of each orange. Remove the skin and pith leaving behind only the fruit. Cut the oranges into 1/4-inch slices and arrange them on the serving dish.
Pour the honey over the oranges, then drizzle them with the olive oil.
Sprinkle the oranges with sea salt flakes and the crushed candies. Serve.
