I LOVE THIS! Many thanks to my friend Catherine for making me a batch of her addictive lavender jelly! I usually cut out about 1/8 of the Saint Andre cheese and set it out to come to room temp. I spread the soft Saint Andre on the crusty baguette and top it with the lavender jelly. Then I take a bite and breathe in with my nose. Lavender heaven!
Pull out the amount of cheese you will consume and let it come to room temp.
Because you need some crunch for texture contrast but a soft landing area for the cheese and jelly, warm slices of baguette on a baking sheet until crunchy on the outside, but soft and warm on the inside. To achieve this effect, I slice the baguette then reassemble it for warming in the oven.
Spread Saint Andre cheese on the baguette and top with lavender jelly. Spread the lavender jelly in an even layer over the cheese and enjoy a bite of heaven!
