1 | Prep all the produce. The lemon, cucumber, red onion, jalapeños, and tomatoes can be processed in advance. |
2 | Pull out the cream cheese prior to serving time so that it can soften. Wash and prep an optional bowl using radiccio for serving the cream cheese. |
3 | Assemble a spread with all the produce and smoked salmon. Add the capers and basil. |

To make the herringbone pattern with the smoked salmon, pull an individual piece and fold it in half. Lay it down on the platter with the folded end facing in. Repeat with another piece of smoked salmon, orienting it opposite of the piece on the platter. Repeat and alternate sides.
