I used to work near Kokkari Estiatorio, a Greek restaurant in SF. At a work lunch in the early 2000s, our server highly recommended the yogurt and honey dessert. I ordered it suspiciously because I wanted to understand why someone would rave about something so basic. It ended up being so good that I went on a hunt to procure the ingredients to make it at home. (Greek yogurt wasn't readily available in stores back then, so I had to go to a Greek store in the Mission.) Nowadays I enjoy this combo for breakfast with oranges with some almonds and chia for texture.
1 | Spoon the yogurt into a small bowl and drizzle with honey. |
2 | Top with almonds and chia seeds. |
3 | Top with oranges. Enjoy immediately. (Or else the honey starts to get watery and the whole thing just starts to look weird.) |
