We'll often whip up this super simple soup to accompany our Japanese meals or to make use of leftover miso paste. Dashi is Japanese soup base. If we don't have any dashi in our freezer, we just use dashi from a packet. Adapted from Hiroji Obayashi's Simple Delicacies.
Ingredients
 dashi2 cups
 miso paste2 tbsp
 tofu
cubed small
 green onions
chopped
 wakame

Combine the dashi and miso paste over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium-low just before it starts to boil.

Whisk the miso until it dissolves. Turn off the heat.

Transfer the tofu, chopped green onions, and wakame into the soup bowls. Pour the miso soup over the contents and serve.
