Inspired by an article on warm cocktails from New York's Timeout magazine, we hunted down this recipe and found it on the Buena Vista website. We've adjusted the proportions, ingredients, and steps to our taste. The trickiest part is pouring in the whipping cream over the spoon so that it floats over the coffee. :)
Ingredients
 hot water
 espresso1 oz
or 2 ounces of coffee
 sugar2 tsp
or 2 sugar cubes
 irish whiskey2 oz
or adjust to taste
 whipping cream
lightly whipped

cookware

hot water-friendly serving glass
whisk
spoon
1
Preheat the serving glass by filling it with hot water. Empty out the water right before preparing the drink.
2
Fill the glass with the espresso or coffee. Add the sugar and stir to dissolve.
3
Add the Irish whiskey and stir to combine. If you like your Irish coffee extra hot, microwave the drink at this point for 30 seconds.
4
Lightly whip the cream with a whisk. Hold a spoon close to the surface of the coffee. Pour the whipped cream gently over the spoon so that it floats on top of the drink. Enjoy immediately.
